Take a Look at RVA in a new light!
It's easy to forget about Richmond's many museums, historic sites and attractions when you're scrambling to keep up with the day-to-day. But why not take a break and explore the city as a tourist would?
The COVID-19 pandemic has pushed many of us indoors for extended periods of time, but the good news is we live in a beautiful city with lots to see all from the comfort of our own vehicles! If you can do so in a safe way, many of these destinations offer a great opportunity to get out and stretch your legs while taking in the views.
We've outlined a few traditional sites to enjoy, plus a few you may not have experienced yet!
Top 10 things to do on your day trip:
-
- Have a picnic lunch at Maymont Park
- Grab your bike and head for the Capital trail
- Take a walk in the Fan or Church Hill and point out your favorite homes
- Use a mural map and bike the city taking pictures of your favorite murals along the way.
- Search for a secluded spot with a little privacy and just breathe the fresh air, or spend some time meditating
- Be your own tour guide as you cruise through Hollywood Cemetery
- Pick a classic Richmond restaurant for takeout like Shagbark, Stellas, or Gelati Celesti
- Catch a sunrise by the Nickel Bridge or on the James River and capture that quintessential Richmond photo
